Our major challenges

Yokoumi Cooperative funded by the Hauts-de-France region

Decarbonize the shea industry

Togo, Kelezio

Aristide tells you about it:

Assembling this multi-partner project, funded by public funds, was a real challenge for me. It is a first for Terravolt in West Africa. This hybrid solar/biomass project, currently being implemented over two years, is a key milestone in our development. The first phase, focused on solar power, will be completed in April 2025, providing initial access to electricity. This project opens promising prospects for the development of sustainable agricultural sectors and helps strengthen the cooperative’s energy autonomy.

Limagrain

Creation of a biomass heating plant powered by corncob at Limagrain

Loire-Authion (49), France

Aurélien tells you about it :

Only 2.5 years passed between the initial study and the commissioning phase of the installations, which is relatively uncommon for projects of this type and scale, and it demonstrates the determination and efficiency of all stakeholders in ensuring the project’s success. The selected companies were chosen not only on financial grounds but also because they are recognized firms with an ongoing, trusted relationship with the client. This contributed to the project’s success and its smooth execution with committed stakeholders.

EDF PEI

Construction of a liquid biomass power plant

Larivot (97), Guyane

Patrice tells you about it :

Since the beginning of January 2024, I have been thriving in my role as an HSSE officer on the construction site. It took some time to adapt to the climatic conditions (rainy and dry seasons). My daily professionalism with external companies allowed me to build a relationship of trust, which is also shared by EDF PEI. I was able to apply my HSE expertise according to the various situations encountered on site. Together with the client, we decided to extend this great adventure throughout 2025.

Chantiers of Atlantique

Commissioning, testing, and startup of A35, Utopia of the Seas

Saint-Nazaire (44), France

Ellande tells you about it:

Working on the Utopia of the Seas has been a challenge and a milestone that will mark my career. Due to its scale and technical complexity, this ship is exceptional in every aspect. Managing to meet the delivery deadlines and receiving unrestricted approval from the Coast Guards and certification bodies—thanks to the dedication and professionalism of everyone involved and daily commitment—is a true source of pride.

Baulon Town Hall

Construction of a wood pellet boiler room and a heating network

Baulon (35), France

Guillaume tells you about it :

Working on this innovative project was truly a privilege. Since its commissioning, the wood pellet installation has brought complete satisfaction to the project owner. The cascading system of the two wood boilers allows for optimal power modulation to meet the heating demands of the connected buildings throughout the heating season. The boiler room, autonomously operated by the municipality’s technical department, supplies two renewable energy networks. This is a first in France.

Working on the ILMA J35 was a great opportunity. Due to the nature of the project—both ecological and luxurious—this is an extraordinary yacht. The technical challenge it represents is a testament to the technological progress of Chantiers de l’Atlantique and their commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of their next-generation ships.
